How to Download Permafrost from Official Stores
Find official Permafrost Steam, GOG and Epic listings, distinguish the ended preview from Early Access, and follow the correct PC installation route.

Availability can change after this check. The October 9 announcement delayed the original 14:00 CEST opening by a few hours without supplying an exact replacement time. That delay is historical on Steam, where purchasing is now open. Check other store buttons separately.
Confirm the developer is SpaceRocket Games and publisher is Toplitz Productions. The name also appears in unrelated projects; Steam app 2254990 identifies this survival game.
Install through Steam
- Open the official listing. If it says Coming Soon, wishlist it and return when the purchase option appears. A wishlist does not begin downloading.
- After release, add the main game to your account through purchase or valid activation, then sign into that same account in the desktop Steam client.
- Open Library, select Permafrost and choose Install. Choose the library drive and complete the prompt.
- Check Downloads and wait for files and updates to finish, then select Play.
This is the standard library flow described by Steam Support. We did not purchase or install Permafrost on a test account. If only the Playtest entry appears, check whether your account owns the main application.
Install through GOG
When the game is purchasable and files are supplied to your account, choose one of these supported methods:
- GOG GALAXY: sign into the owning account, select the game in your library and choose Install.
- Offline installer: open your GOG account library in a browser, select the game and expand Download offline backup game installers. Download all supplied setup parts for your selected version, keep them together and run the setup application.
GOG documents both methods. General offline-installation support does not establish that this game had downloadable installers at the pre-unlock check.
Install through Epic Games
- Use the official listing above and ensure the released game has been added to your Epic account.
- Open Epic Games Launcher, go to Library and select the game.
- Choose the installation directory and select Install.
- Once downloading finishes, select the library icon to launch.
These are Epic Support instructions. A Coming Soon store page alone does not supply installable game files.
Choose the right version and installation space
- 2h Preview / Playtest: the October test ended October 6. Its library item and allowance were separate from the main game. See preview availability and timer rules.
- Early Access: a paid main-game version under continuing development, rather than a free two-hour trial.
- Version 1.0: a later full-release milestone. Early Access does not mean development is finished.
- Storage: Steam lists 30 GB available space. This is not an exact compressed-download size; updates and setup files can need more room.
If the game is missing from your library, check the account and completed transaction first. If installation fails, record the exact launcher error and use its support. A file-download error and a crash after selecting Play require different troubleshooting.
Does Permafrost support Chinese?
The current Steam language table lists Simplified Chinese interface and subtitles. It does not list full Chinese audio; full audio is marked for English. This refers to the game by SpaceRocket Games, not the scientific meaning of its name. Check the language options in your installed build.
Free access, torrents and unofficial downloads
The main Early Access game is paid. The October 2–6 preview has ended; a torrent described as a playtest does not create official test access. For a future free test, use the official preview notices. This page supplies official installation routes and does not verify third-party torrent packages or an “online fix” tool.
