Can You Hide from Enemies in SILENT HILL: Townfall?

A chase does not always mean a fight. Cover and hiding can work, but timing and visibility matter.

Quick Answer

Yes. Townfall lets Simon use cover and enclosed spaces to evade enemies. Breaking line of sight around a corner or obstacle may help you escape a chase. The important limit is that an enemy that sees you enter a cabinet, closet or locker can follow and pull you out, so hide after creating separation.

First break line of sight

The PlayStation gameplay feature describes losing a pursuer by rounding a corner or ducking behind something. That makes cover useful even after you have been noticed. Move out of direct view, then reassess where the enemy is before committing to a hiding place.

Do not assume one turn makes you safe. The developer says enemies dynamically hunt the player using their senses. If the enemy still has a clear view of your path, it may continue to track you.

Choose a hiding spot they did not watch you enter

Cabinets, closets and lockers can conceal Simon. The feature specifically warns that a creature which sees you slip inside may chase you down and pull you out. The sequence is therefore important: use a corner or object to interrupt visibility, then hide once you are less exposed.

A hiding place is a temporary way to survive an encounter, not proof that the area is clear. Listen and check your surroundings before leaving it.

When hiding is not enough

Screen Burn describes running, distracting, hiding and fighting as different responses to different encounters. In some situations combat is possible; in others evasion is the necessary route. If a closet is watched or the escape route is blocked, look for environmental cover or another way past rather than repeating the same failed hiding attempt.
