Survival Log Drone Unavailable: Mission and Cargo Checks

Match the blocked action to the current status message before sending another order.

Quick Answer

Check the drone’s mission status, leftover cargo and any survivor return gift before sending it again. A drone at Home wrongly marked On a Mission while another lured a horde was fixed in 1.0.16756. Repeated trade orders do not bypass a drone being away or having already traded that day.

Read the unavailable-action message

Since 1.0.16363, a busy drone’s Deliver Supplies button is grayed out and explains the reason. Use that message to identify a real busy state before treating the button as broken.

A separate bug affected homes with multiple drones: dispatching one to lure a zombie horde could incorrectly mark another at Home as On a Mission. Version 1.0.16756 fixes that false status. Update and check the idle drone again if those are your exact circumstances.

Check cargo and survivor gifts

  • Empty-looking cargo but no space: 1.0.16363 fixes the trade panel hiding items left from a previous trip. Check the displayed hold and clear those remaining items before trying to load more.
  • A survivor has sent a return gift: after responding to a request and sending enough food, collect that gift before sending the drone again. This is a stated requirement in the September 12 update.
  • A trade order fails: 1.0.15955 fixes a second consecutive queued Drone Trade malfunction and adds a direct prompt when the drone is out or has already traded that day. Read the prompt instead of repeatedly adding the same order.

Check the result or report the symptom

Once the stated blocker is cleared, check whether the action is available again. If an idle drone remains falsely busy, or the cargo panel still disagrees with available space in an updated build, report its status, the exact button message, your game version and a screenshot through the official feedback form.

Include whether you have multiple drones and whether one is luring a horde. Those details distinguish the documented status bug from an actual trip or a gift waiting to be collected.
