Six Parts and 17 chapters
| Part | Chapters | Role in the route |
|---|---|---|
| 1 · Arrival | 1–4 | Cold Open, Escape, Connection, Search for Zoe |
| 2 · Zoe | 5–6 | Rounds as Zoe, then Simon’s Journey to the Medical Centre |
| 3 · The Patient | 7–8 | The Patient and Many Into One |
| 4 · Clara Woods | 9–11 | Begin Again, Missing Parts, Inside the CEG |
| 5 · Richard | 12–13 | Getting Inside and Another Attempt |
| 6 · Simon | 14–17 | Fix This, Trying Again, Eraser, Returning |
A Part is a story grouping, not always a single playable character. Part 2 includes a return to Simon. The final Returning epilogue is chapter 17; a puzzle-only list that ends at the boss can appear to have only 16 chapters. A video’s bonus “New Game Plus” chapter is not a seventh story Part.

How long is a first playthrough?
There is no single verified average for every player. TechRadar’s firsthand Normal-difficulty PS5 review reports just over 20 hours with a gentle pace and experimentation. Puzzle interpretation, exploration, collectible searching and failed encounters can all extend the run.
The trophy roadmap estimates roughly 15–25 hours for its planned trophy route, including repeated play and reloads. That estimate is a different goal from a blind first completion. Do not add chapter times from a prepared speedrun and treat the result as an ordinary player’s expected time.

Recorded Part timings, including Part 5
These are intervals in PowerPyx’s prepared full-game video. They are useful for choosing a segment to watch, not estimates for solving that Part for the first time.
| Part | Video interval | Recorded duration |
|---|---|---|
| 1 · Arrival | 0:00 · 0:00 ▶ → 18:08 | 18:08 |
| 2 · Zoe | 18:08 · 18:08 ▶ → 30:48 | 12:40 |
| 3 · The Patient | 30:48 · 30:48 ▶ → 58:03 | 27:15 |
| 4 · Clara Woods | 58:03 · 58:03 ▶ → 77:06 | 19:03 |
| 5 · Richard | 77:06 · 77:06 ▶ → 88:37 | 11:31 |
| 6 · Simon | 88:37 · 88:37 ▶ → 117:41 | 29:04 |
Part 5 runs from 1:17:06 to 1:28:37 in this particular video, about 11 minutes 31 seconds. A first attempt must also interpret the generator, gather projector parts and understand the slide order, so this is not a promise that Part 5 normally takes eleven minutes.
What pauses the in-game timer?
The roadmap says the pause menu stops the timer; other menus and cutscenes continue it. Enable Show Time Played in Game Options to monitor your run. Real-world elapsed time and the displayed run time are different measurements.
- Pause with the actual pause menu before studying an external guide.
- For a failed segment, quit to the main menu before loading your earlier save.
- Check the displayed run time after the load rather than assuming an in-play reload removed the failed attempt.
- Do not plan an under-four-hour run by summing only active movement time.

Can you select chapters afterward?
The roadmap does not provide chapter select or a post-story free-roam cleanup mode. Earlier areas close as the route advances. Keep manual saves before transitions if you need a collectible, trophy condition or different ending later.
New Game Plus restarts the story and adds pickups; it is not a shortcut back to whichever chapter you missed. Use the complete walkthrough for the next required action and the ending guide before committing to the final route.
