Wild West Pioneers Frontier Progression Guide
Build the first town as a working system, then use Journey quests and scouts to expand across the frontier.
Quick Answer
Start by establishing a Town Hall, roads and homes, then supply the town with food and useful goods. Expand production chains as new needs appear. Journey quests award experience used to unlock buildings, while scouts reveal locations and possible new settlements. The store describes this loop, but it does not publish an exact mandatory build order.

Make the first town functional
The official description starts with the Town Hall, roads, homes and a stocked Saloon. Treat those as parts of one settlement: people need shelter and supplies, while the buildings producing those supplies need workable connections. A decorative town can look complete while its production chain still lacks an input or a route to households.
For a concrete layout, read our city layout guide. It explains how local building range differs from the road-connected warehouse network, using a Toplitz Productions staff example. The store itself does not provide tile ranges, so avoid planning around an invented radius.
Grow one production chain at a time
Food and building materials support the early town; the official page also names tools and luxury goods as later outputs. When a product is missing, trace its chain backward: what building makes it, which input it consumes and whether the inputs are reaching that building. Then trace forward to the service or construction step that needs it.
This keeps expansion tied to a purpose. A new producer without raw materials or transport cannot solve a shortage. If resources seem present but unavailable, begin with the warehouse network explanation and check road continuity back to the Town Hall.
Use Journey quests to open choices
The developer says Journey quests grant experience that unlocks new buildings. That gives you a progression signal alongside your town’s immediate supply needs. Check which quest you can advance with the settlement you already have, and whether its reward opens a building needed for the next chain.
The same official description says the game rewards different personal goals and does not force every player down the main story at the same pace. We therefore do not claim a single universal quest sequence. The practical rule is to alternate between a current town bottleneck and a reachable Journey objective instead of expanding every system at once.
Send scouts before committing to expansion
Scouts can reveal new locations and opportunities; the world map connects multiple settlements. A discovered site may offer a new place to settle, an encounter or resources. Exploration is therefore part of the town-building loop rather than a separate endgame activity.
Before founding another settlement, check what your current town can already produce and what the new region is expected to add. The official page promises distinct regions with different resources and challenges, but it does not provide a complete map or exact resource list for every location. Use discoveries in your own save to make the final placement choice.
