What price has been announced?
Live Steam regional check, October 9 at 13:51 UTC: US$24.99 → US$19.99 (US account region); ¥119.00 → ¥95.20 (mainland China account region). These are base-game amounts from Steam’s official app details, not converted currencies or bundle prices. Regional eligibility and the checkout total still depend on your account.
| Item | Confirmed information |
|---|---|
| US launch base price | US$24.99 |
| Launch discount | 20% live on Steam at this check |
| Regional prices | Custom regional pricing; check local store amounts |
| Checked purchase state | Steam purchase opened by 13:51 UTC on October 9; the earlier coming-soon observation is historical |
The discount is an announced launch offer, not a permanent price. Steam’s live introductory offer displays an October 23 end date. A currency conversion of US$24.99 is not an official local price.
Older articles saying the price is unknown, or using 17.5% as the launch discount, predate the October 6 announcement. The latest announced discount is 20%.

Both pages identify SpaceRocket Games as developer and Toplitz Productions as publisher. Use those details to distinguish this survival game from unrelated products with similar names. Steam and GOG purchases belong to separate store accounts; choose the account and installation method you intend to use.
Before you pay
- Open an official listing above and confirm the game and publisher.
- Read the amount in your displayed currency and confirm that the launch discount is applied.
- Confirm that the purchase is the Early Access game, rather than relying on an old demo or playtest entry.
- Compare your PC with the current store requirements and read the Early Access notes.
Steam now offers purchasing. Other stores may update independently; check their live product buttons rather than assuming simultaneous availability.
Will the price change during Early Access?
The Steam developer statement says a price increase during development toward the full release is likely. It provides neither a fixed future amount nor a schedule of increases. Buy based on the present game and current checkout.
A key reseller offer is not evidence of the official regional launch price. Check activation platform and region before comparing it with a store price. A PC key also does not buy the announced PS5 edition.
Can you get Permafrost for free?
The current main game is paid Early Access. The free October 2–6 preview has ended; it is not a permanent free edition. For another official test, check the preview availability page. The live store price applies to the main game, not a Permafrost-named skin or item in another game.
