Permafrost on PS5 and Xbox: Confirmed Platform Status
Separate an announced console version from a dated PC launch.
Quick Answer
Permafrost has an announced PS5 version on the official PlayStation Store, with its release date still to be determined. The October 9, 2026 Early Access date refers to PC. An Xbox release date has not been confirmed in the official sources checked here.

PS5, Xbox and PC at a glance
| Platform | Status | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| PS5 | Announced; release date to be determined | Wishlist the official PS5 listing. |
| Xbox Series / Xbox One | No dated Xbox release confirmed in the checked official sources | Follow publisher announcements before buying a console key. |
| Windows PC | October 9 Early Access launch delayed by a few hours | Check Steam for actual purchase availability. |
The official PS5 listing is published under Toplitz Productions and explicitly identifies a PS5 version. Its wishlist button and announced status are different from a purchase option. The PC launch day does not tell you when you can install the game on a console.
What the PS5 listing confirms
The PlayStation page lists one-player support, optional online play, and up to four online players with PlayStation Plus. PS Plus is required for online play. These are listing details for the announced console version; they do not mean the PS5 edition is currently available.
To follow that version, open the official page and wishlist it. Check for an actual release date before scheduling a launch session. The listing checked here does not state a console purchase price.
How to assess Xbox release claims
Some game databases include Xbox Series among the platforms. That does not establish a launch day, a purchasable Xbox edition or Game Pass availability. The checked publisher game page and current PC announcements do not provide a dated Xbox release.
Keep the Xbox question open: lack of current confirmation is not proof that a version can never happen. Before buying a key, check its activation platform. A Steam or GOG PC purchase is not an Xbox console entitlement.
Planning a co-op purchase
Choose the same confirmed, available platform before arranging a group session. Four-player support in the PS5 listing does not itself establish PC-to-PS5 crossplay. No crossplay promise is made here.
On PC launch day, the developer announced a short delay to include fixes. Check the live store rather than treating the original PC unlock time as proof that a console edition has launched.
