Unlock and power both controls

Finish the patient’s vital-sign responses. Inspect the pager message from Dr. Glenn, then enter 7103 at the X-ray room. Records Room code 2605 belongs to the later medication task.

  1. Turn on the computer at its power switch.
  2. Power the separate imaging / exposure control. A lit monitor does not guarantee the machine is on.
  3. Read the laptop’s X-ray dosage information.

Set the target and exposure values

Change all settings when the doctor requests the chest. Keeping the skull values for the second exposure will not work.

Align before using the green exposure button

  1. Raise the computer view toward the head, then move and zoom until the corner brackets match the white marks. Wait for Patient Skull – Aligned.
  2. Return to the machine and use the green exposure button.
  3. Select Chest and set 7, 3, 1.2. Lower the view farther into the body toward the point where the wires enter.
  4. Wait for Patient Chest – Aligned, then make the second exposure.
Use the explicit alignment confirmation before exposing the image. PowerPyx · 34:10 ▶

A view that looks centered can still lack alignment confirmation. If a shot fails, check power, anatomy target, values and alignment together.

Collect prints and use the lightboard

  1. Take both prints from the printer beside the computer.
  2. Return to the operating room’s large wall lightboard beside the intercom.
  3. Mount and inspect the head and chest images as requested. Listen for the medication instruction.

The next task is finding the three medicines. Taking the exposures alone is insufficient: the prints must be collected and used.
