Moon Sweepers Backup Folder: Location, Timing and Automatic Repair
Find the official Windows backup folder, understand the five-backup rotation and preserve a copy before diagnosing a save problem.
Quick answer
Backups are in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\DragDropGames\MoonSweepers\Backups. Since 1.0.4, each save slot keeps up to five world backups outside Steam Cloud.

Open the backup folder
Close Moon Sweepers. Paste the following into Windows File Explorer’s address bar:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\DragDropGames\MoonSweepers\Backups%USERPROFILE% expands to your Windows account folder. It does not mean your Steam display name. Copy the folder to a separate location before trying manual recovery work.
Understand when a backup exists

Let the game check a damaged save
The developer says damaged save data is restored from backups during world loading, with a repair notification. After a crash, the next startup also checks the save files.
A world that freezes shortly after loading may be a different issue: 1.0.5 fixes a repeatable freeze around half a minute after loading some worlds. Update before assuming the only copy of the world is damaged.
This path identifies the documented backup folder. It is not an instruction to rename a particular backup into a live save file; the official notes do not specify that manual procedure.
