Moon Sweepers Co-op: Shared Upgrades and Host Controls
Check which upgrade matrix a crew uses, why purchases apply to everyone, and where the host manages players.
Quick answer
The crew uses the host’s Upgrade Matrix. Since 1.0.3, anyone’s matrix purchase upgrades everyone. Moon Sweepers supports solo play and online co-op for up to 16 players.

Check the active crew’s progression
Before buying another matrix level, compare the same upgrade in the host’s world. Older saves retain the highest level anyone had bought when converted by the 1.0.3 change.
This confirmed rule concerns the Upgrade Matrix. It does not establish that every tool, vehicle or unlock becomes available in every player’s separate save.
Manage the crew
The host opens Esc → Your Crew to kick, ban or unban players. A ban prevents that player from rejoining that save. Patch 1.0.5 adds a confirmation explaining public-game access when creating a public game or switching the crew to public.
Check a co-op mismatch
- Have everyone finish updating Steam’s installed copy before reconnecting.
- Compare the same world and upgrade, rather than two different hosts’ saves.
- If the ground looks different to a crewmate, note that 1.0.4 reworked cleaned-ground synchronization.
- Record both versions and who hosts if the difference persists. Do not treat a generic reconnect as a confirmed fix.
Keep a copy of the world
For the local safety net, see the backup folder and automatic repair guide. A shared session and a local backup answer different questions.
