Choose by comfort and camera control
On PC, either keyboard and mouse or a supported controller can play the game. Remedy documents remapping for both. Use the device that lets you manage the camera, dodge and trigger abilities comfortably; there is no documented damage bonus or exclusive quest for choosing one.
| Your priority | Try first | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Direct camera adjustment | Mouse and keyboard | Can you turn and select a target while reaching dodge and abilities? |
| Analog movement and familiar face buttons | Controller | Can you dodge or attack without losing the camera when you need it? |
| Feedback and trigger feel | A supported controller | Haptics and adaptive triggers depend on the device; reduce or disable them if uncomfortable. |
| Long-session comfort | Whichever device is comfortable | Remap frequent actions and use supported Hold/Toggle options where helpful. |
Three menus solve different problems
- Options → Controls: change mouse, keyboard and controller action bindings. Where offered, switch a supported action between Hold and Toggle. Check the action name, not a copied default-key chart, after remapping.
- Options → Gameplay: adjust mouse sensitivity or inversion; controller horizontal/vertical sensitivity, inversion and swapped sticks. Supported-controller options include Adaptive Triggers and Haptics Volume.
- Options → Interface → Controller Icons: use Auto, Xbox or PlayStation prompts. A manual icon choice fixes the displayed symbols; it does not make an unsupported controller acquire new features.
A five-minute input comparison
Use a familiar, low-pressure area. This comparison is our suggested routine; it is not a claim that the game contains an input benchmark.
- Turn the camera slowly, then quickly. Change sensitivity only until both motions feel controllable.
- Try Camera Lock and change targets. Check whether you can release the lock without searching for its binding.
- Combine a primary attack, a dodge and one available ability. If two important actions compete for a finger, remap one and repeat.
- Try the traversal moves you have already unlocked and interact with an object. A later unlock is not a reason to abandon a comfortable device now.
- Open and close a menu. Compare the same actions on the other device, then keep the one that causes fewer missed inputs.
If the setup feels wrong
- Wrong button symbols: select the matching Controller Icons option instead of Auto.
- Camera overshoots: lower the relevant sensitivity and repeat the same turn. Mouse and controller values are separate.
- Trigger resistance or feedback is tiring: disable Adaptive Triggers or reduce Haptics Volume where supported.
- Frequent holds are uncomfortable: use a supported Toggle option, or choose a reachable binding. If combat itself is the barrier, see Assist Mode settings.
- The pad is not detected: distinguish missing device input from incorrect prompts. Check its connection and platform support before changing bindings; choosing PlayStation icons alone does not establish detection.
There is no one sensitivity value that fits different mice, controller sticks, screens and players. Keep a record of your working bindings so you can restore them after experimenting.

This official diary shows the combat rhythm you are configuring controls for. It is not a tutorial of the remapping menu or evidence that every controller model supports haptics.
