Read the game map
Use the map below to orient yourself around Central, the junction between the early surface regions. The Field Office is in the middle; the West Incursion Zone and Park checkpoints sit toward its northern sides, while the Downtown and Evacuation connections lie below.
The numeral beside a region name, such as CENTRAL 3 in this recording, belongs to the save’s region state. It is not an extra district or a fixed part of the place name. Open an image, then use Zoom + and drag or scroll inside it to read small labels.
A flat map helps locate a destination, but does not show every rooftop, interior passage or gravity change. Keep the appropriate quest tracked and use the physical entrances described in its guide.
For Downtown, compare the Auction House marker with the Central Checkpoint and Underground Supply Route below. The marker sits in the Dense Patterning section; the roof entrance is described in the Auction House route.
The seven regions
| Region | Orientation | Next guide |
|---|---|---|
| Downtown | Opening district and the Oldest House. Its dense northern streets include the Auction House. | Auction House roof entrance |
| Central | The surface junction and Field Office, with routes toward the other early regions. | New Growth access items |
| Evacuation Zone | East of Central; includes the Sinkhole and Railyard Street Station. | The Subway Fault and Reach |
| West Incursion Zone | West of Central; folded streets and altered gravity. | The Party Won’t Stop |
| The Park | North of the Central junction; Mold-covered routes and sewer connections. | Power Lines stations |
| Underpass | A later subterranean region below the Sinkhole. | Sinkhole descent and destinations |
| Unknown | A late-story region of floating, inverted city fragments. | Later dog-toy route |
This table includes late-region names. Interior locations such as the Patterned Factory are not additional surface zones, and their routes cannot be reconstructed from the surface map alone.
When a route is still blocked
After Downtown and Central, explore the Evacuation Zone, West Incursion Zone and Park as your objectives and traversal kit allow. Their accessibility does not mean every ledge or interior objective can be finished immediately.
- Shift handles altered-gravity surfaces and is used by the Auction House rooftop approach.
- Reach comes from The Subway Fault at Railyard Street Station in the Evacuation Zone. It grapples designated sphere anchors rather than arbitrary walls.
- Underpass opens during Recursions and Iterations through the deeper Sinkhole route. Its later crossings need Reach.
- Unknown is reached later in the story. Use the current objective rather than attempting to jump to it from an early street.
If the marker looks nearby but unreachable, compare your height with the destination, look for a roof or tunnel entrance, and check the required ability. Visit the linked route guide before spending time on repeated jumps.
Reveal a zone with its Map Kit
- Find the region’s Map Kit Pylon. Its marker is available even when the surrounding map is hidden.
- Locate and interact with its three Sensors. Their blinking red lights turn green after calibration; some sit on rooftops or separated platforms.
- Return to the Pylon and activate its panel. Confirm Zone Map Unlocked, then open the map.
An offline tower is usually asking for its sensors. A region that stays hidden after three calibrations still needs the final tower interaction. Downtown introduces the system through its early quest; use the interaction prompt displayed for your controls.
Map Kit video chapters
The original recording groups the Pylons by region. Its order places Underpass before the Park; that is the recording’s route, not a mandatory progression order.
Use these chapters to see the local sensor route. Use the location guides for specific quest entrances and pickups.
