Artifacts: Effects, Costs and Untapped Sources
Artifacts: Effects, Costs and Untapped Sources. Practical steps and checks.
Quick answer
Untapped Artifacts are recipes. At Artifact Formation in The Gap, select one and inspect its displayed materials and Source cost. Craft it, then equip the finished item in Loadout. A first run has three slots; NG+ adds a fourth. Read family restrictions before assuming two similar bonuses can be stacked.

Choose a role for each slot
Start with the problem you are solving: survival, Power recovery or damage. Bout Guard helps recovery but makes incoming hits worse; Bar Blade only heals near a Summon. If you use Spore Burst without a Summon, that proximity condition is not automatically satisfied. A bonus whose condition you cannot maintain is a poor use of a slot.
Check the exact acquisition and cost
The reference below is a checked selection, not every Artifact in the game. The broad source catalog contains acquisition conflicts: it leaves Scrunchie unresolved while the facility walkthrough records its final report, and calls Pickpocket’s Tool a preorder bonus despite an epilogue reward route. Use the quest’s final handover for those cases. Exact crafting costs should be read in your installed menu; this page does not invent missing costs.
Build around the drawback
Test one Artifact change at a time in the same encounter. Replace an incoming-damage penalty if survival is the failure, before rebuilding every ability. For Wallet’s unusual Burn behavior at empty Power, update to 1.4.2; the hotfix repairs that specific damage issue. Owning a recipe, crafting an item and meeting its equipped trigger remain three separate checks.
