Updates: What Changes in Your Guide?
Keep the route, replace outdated patch assumptions, and check rewards before another run.
Quick Answer
The latest official hotfix checked here is 1.4.2, released October 8, 2026. If Every Dog Has Her Day finished without its Artifact, update and check the completed profile before entering NG+: the retroactive reward condition excludes players who already entered it. Other patch entries repair specific blockers rather than completing quests for you.

First: the October 8 hotfix
For the dog reward, completing another toy return is not the documented solution to a finished quest with a missing Artifact. Install the hotfix, inspect your existing completed profile, and preserve it while checking the result. Remedy does not give a separate claim-button sequence or promise the same recovery after NG+; this guide does not invent one.
The normal seven-toy route and final Gap visit still matter when the quest itself is incomplete. A missing reward and an unfinished delivery are different diagnoses.

1.4.2
Dog quest reward
Missing Artifact recovery is limited to players not yet in NG+. Check the completed profile first.
1.4.1
The Park Resonant
Required Mold interaction is repaired; 1.4.2 separately fixes the idle Firebreaker.
1.4.0
The Complete Set
The final two-minute prompt delay is repaired; collection steps remain necessary.
New Growth: 1.4.0 fixes the test-subject objective staying incomplete after elimination without the Mold-guide interaction. The Last Taxi: the same update fixes a missing quest reward. Finish each normal handover; these entries do not document a universal retroactive-claim procedure.
Combat advice and older recordings
The September 24 1.3.3 launch hotfix lowers enemy health and Falter requirements, raises strength caps, and makes respecs cheaper; The Artist awards two Reset Items. Earlier footage may therefore show slower fights. The 1.4.0 Loadout display also exposes Build Power directly.
Use a recording to recognize the arena, enemy tell or route. Avoid treating the damage numbers in one recording as a target your own character must reproduce: upgrades, Artifacts, Assist settings and build version can differ. The build guide explains conditions rather than promising a universal strongest loadout.
For difficulty changes, use current Assist settings. A new option appearing in an updated menu does not mean the controls in an older video were fake; it means you need the instructions for your installed version.
Graphics fixes are symptom-specific
1.4.0 addresses RT-switch crashes, HDR highlights, controller reconnection and broader ultrawide issues. That wording does not explicitly close every old FPS or black-bar symptom. AMD 26.9.2 Optional, released September 29, lists game support.
- Radeon performance: the old instruction to wait for an unpublished driver has been replaced. Check compatibility before installing.
- FPS loss after an RT change: distinguish a crash from a running game that slowed down. Compare the same scene after a full restart if matching the historical symptom.
- Underpass execution black bars: a broad fix is not proof that this exact trigger is closed on your build.
Changing resolution, preset, driver and frame generation together makes the result hard to interpret. Write down the starting settings, change one cause at a time, and compare an unchanged scene.
Update before repeating a workaround
- Save normally, close the game, and finish its pending update through your store or console.
- On Steam, open Library, the game Properties and Updates; check Downloads for a paused queue. Use the official platform instructions below for the exact update flow.
- Reload the affected profile and check the objective or missing reward. Do not delete a save simply because an old guide described a blocker.
- If the same symptom persists, capture the installed build, platform, active objective and a short reproduction recording for support.
A published fix is evidence about the named issue, not a guarantee that every damaged or unrelated save state will recover. These guide revisions are based on official notes and source review; GameHelpBase has not reproduced each fix by playing the patched game.
