Find Wear’Em & Wash’Em in Central

Look around the plaza east of the Central Field Office for the laundromat’s blue Wear’Em & Wash’Em sign and keyhole-style marker. Clear the three Hiss nodes around the entrance if a barrier blocks the store; follow the tendrils to find them. Inside, inspect the paper clue on the noticeboard.

The clue is a seven-row pattern. Each 1 is an active machine, each 0 is inactive. There are six active positions in total. I.Eat.Games. · 0:11 ↗

The complete washing-machine solution

Read the paper as seven machine banks. A 1 means ON and a 0 means OFF. Face each bank and count its machines from left to right. The long left wall has seven positions; the other banks have six. Broken or unusable machines still occupy a position.

Six machines on, seven rows in the clue.

The code contains six ones. Switch on only the six positions marked below; all other usable machines should be off. The puzzle checks the final arrangement, so there is no special button-press order.

Find the bank before counting machines. Entrance at the bottom, back room at the top. Numbers match the seven row cards below. Original orientation diagram; not to scale.
ON OFFCount left → right, facing the bank

01 · Long left wall

Turn on machine 4.

02 · Left island · faces left wall

Turn on machines 3 and 4.

03 · Left island · faces room center

Turn on machines 1 and 6.

04 · Right island · faces room center

Leave every machine off.

05 · Right island · faces right wall

Leave every machine off.

06 · Right wall · back bank

Leave every machine off.

07 · Right wall · front bank

Turn on machine 1: the end nearest the back of the store when facing this bank.

The last row is easy to mirror by mistake. Face the right-wall front bank: use its leftmost position, the end toward the back of the shop. If the opposite end is active, switch it off and activate the end nearest the back of the store.

Keep your orientation: entrance behind, back area ahead. The wall bank is on the right in this view. Use the room diagram and row cards to select the exact machine, then continue into the back area. I.Eat.Games. · 1:17 ↗

Open the hidden room

After the correct arrangement, the back-area door opens. Follow the passage and stairs into the shelter, then open the chest for a Health Upgrade. There are also shelter documents to collect. The video reaches the chest at about 1:39.

If the door stays closed

  1. Count six active machines, not seven.
  2. Check both faces of the left island; rows 2 and 3 are separate banks.
  3. Turn every usable machine in rows 4, 5 and 6 off.
  4. Recheck the front right-wall bank from the correct facing direction. Its active machine is toward the back of the store.
  5. Count physical positions, including broken machines. Check the complete pattern before changing rows that already match.
