How the dog quest works
Approach the Mysterious Dog and inspect the bed. In each of seven regions, find the nearby blue dragon toy, carry it back and use the interaction at the bed. Finding the dog alone does not finish that region.
The eighth encounter is the ending in the Gap. It does not require another toy.
All seven dog and toy locations
The order below follows the video chapters for easy reference. Later regions depend on story and traversal access; return when their routes become available.
Downtown
Dog: Rooftop garden on the southern side of Downtown.
Check the lower neighboring roof to the east, above the dog-food advertisement near the stairwell door. Pick up the small blue dragon plush, return to the garden and interact at the dog’s bed.
Access / key step: Reach the neighboring rooftops.
Central
Dog: Roof north of East Park Station.
Look down into the alley north of the dog. The toy is at the far end, beneath a lit billboard and beyond the crossing Hiss lasers. Retrieve it, get back onto the roof and return it at the bed.
Access / key step: Avoid the alley’s laser hazards.
The Park
Dog: Northeast rooftop, near the Mold Factory approach.
The toy is on the higher roof reached by the yellow exterior lift. Take power from the station west of the dog. Relay it through the intermediate rooftop power box, then charge the lift and ride up. Collect the toy from the floodlit desk and take it back.
Access / key step: Use the intermediate power box; the charge can expire on a direct run.
West Incursion Zone
Dog: Roof west of the Parking Garage, beside the rotated city wall.
Find the Chowrap billboard. The toy is on a nearby roof by an air-conditioning unit to the left of the sign. Return using the wall and rooftop route; the water tank is a useful landmark for finding the dog again.
Access / key step: Shift is needed for the rotated approach.
Evacuation Zone
Dog: Red-lit gap between the folded buildings northeast of the Sinkhole.
Look toward the mirrored Chowrap signs. The plush is on the opposite upside-down rooftop. Reach the elevated roof, use Shift to cross onto the inverted surface, collect the toy and return to the dog’s bed.
Access / key step: Shift; Reach helps you reach the upper approach.
Underpass
Dog: Raised structure northeast of Research Site, toward Halfway Trail.
The toy is on the ceiling directly above the dog. Use the pillar with orange pipes and a white radiator to reach the upper route, then Shift onto the ceiling. For the return, drop the plush toward the dog’s platform so gravity carries it across; use the side ledge to return, recover it and deliver it.
Access / key step: Shift and Reach; take care with the inverted return route.
Unknown
Dog: Garden roof on the northwest island, near Tower Island fast travel.
Follow the adjacent skyscraper and its dog-food billboard. The toy is on the high balcony beneath a downward BAR arrow. Use the water tank, billboard and inverted wall route; continue past the skull graffiti and upper beams to the balcony. Return to the garden with the plush.
Access / key step: Story access through Pope’s Research; an extended Shift route.
Complete Every Dog Has Her Day
- Finish all seven toy returns.
- Go to the Gap and find the dog near the weapon-upgrade station.
- Interact to close the quest and check for the Dog’s Best Friend achievement and Trusted Spanner artifact.
The documented reward is the Dog’s Best Friend achievement and the Untapped Trusted Spanner artifact.
If a return is not registering
- Check the delivery: carrying the plush onto the roof is not the same as interacting at the bed.
- Check your region: the Park lift route and the Underpass ceiling route solve different access problems.
- Check traversal access: a late roof may require Shift or further story progress. Use the region’s chapter rather than trying an early-game jump route.
