Before entering the subway
Reach is the grapple. It pulls Dylan toward designated spherical anchors and comes from The Subway Fault in the Evacuation Zone.
Prepare Shift from the West Incursion Zone Fault and Elevate from Orientation for the route below. Shift handles altered-gravity tracks; Elevate helps control a descent. A station marker on your map does not mean every movement route is ready.
This guide includes Jesse’s ritual and ability-unlock spoilers.
Find Railyard Street Station
From the Evacuation Zone’s Main Street fast-travel door, head north to the construction site. Clear the Mold enemy that sustains the green wall, pass through, then turn right onto the road. Jesse’s vision points toward Railyard Street Station and adds The Subway Fault to the Quest Log.
Track the quest to keep its marker visible. Descend the station stairs, pass the turnstiles, and enter the tunnel not blocked by a train.
Pass the tracks and moving trains
- Follow the Mold-covered tunnel into the Patterned tracks. Use Shift on altered surfaces.
- At the drop, aim toward the side ledge and use Elevate to control your landing.
- In the warped station, take the lower platform into the yellow-lit tunnel. Move between sheltered pockets after trains pass.
- In the chamber with tracks crossing in several directions, descend by the stationary cars or side platforms. Clear the enemies on the lower blue-lit platform and follow the final tunnel.
Trains are timed hazards. Wait for a clear interval before crossing; a collision can send you back to the beginning of that stretch.
Meet Jesse and learn Reach
Interact with the television. Cross the floating route in the golden Fault and speak to Jesse on the subway platform. This sequence gives you Reach and begins the ritual. Meet Jesse · 7:58 ▶
Use the sphere anchors between islands and televisions, then follow the altered-gravity corridors and raised platforms. Continue to Jesse and the final television to finish the ritual.
Look for The Subway Fault completion in your Quest Log. A nearby sphere offering a usable Reach prompt is the practical check that the ability is part of your movement kit.
Use the sphere prompt and leave
Face a sphere and move within range until the Reach prompt appears. Use the control displayed there. Reach works on designated anchors; it does not grapple any wall or building you can see.
If a sphere has no prompt, check that you received the ability, center the anchor in view and close the distance with your movement actions. Shift changes orientation on suitable surfaces; Reach pulls you across the gap.
On the return, grapple between the side platforms and stationary trains after the moving train clears. Follow the upward tunnel and Shift route around the blocked train to the Patterned Metro Tunnels fast-travel door.
With Reach available, revisit gated Freeze Frame camera routes and dog-toy locations.
