Reach the research area
After Enemy of My Enemy, speak to Pope in the Oldest House lobby. Re-enter the Sinkhole through the laundromat, follow Personnel Access and the yellow tape, then descend through the former diving-bell shaft. Dombrow and Langston’s cat investigation are optional here. Activate the Sinkhole door, then descend the stairs into Underpass.
Follow the white lights, not the optional Spire climb
Land on the red platform and follow the rope lights right. Clear the Hiss, climb the pillar, cross to the next fight and Shift to the ceiling to reach the opening. Continue south to the camp and activate The Spire door. The upward Spire route leads to the optional Underpass Resonant; the research objective continues below the camp. Activate the map kit and Halfway Trail door. The next yellow-lit platform requires Reach: complete The Subway Fault if necessary, then resume here.
Investigate the changing team
Cross the red platforms to the beacon and inspect the bodies. Note the eastern cable car and activate Research Station above the nearby pillar. Search the walkways west of it, report the anomaly, then cross the southwest tower and descend its wall to the next group. Speak to Grist and take the device left on the table after she disappears. Revisit the two marked research sites: one has an audio log, the first has Ayad.
Restore power: bring all four charges together
Follow Ayad’s yellow tape. Climb the tower and Shift to the moving room on its eastern wall. Take its charge to the fixed room east of Ayad, which already contains one powered cube. Retrieve another charge from the adjacent wall room and a final charge off the platform’s east edge. The goal is four charges in the fixed room, rather than leaving the moving rooms powered. Return to Ayad after all four are installed.
Resolve the remaining fluctuations
Return to Another Research Site?, then find Grist at the southeastern edge. After she disappears, inspect the recording by her body on the western tower’s upper area. Go southeast to the Transmission Tower and defeat its Hiss waves. Return east to the cable car for the next Grist conversation, then use its lever to cross.
Finish the last relay
Follow the red beacons beyond the cable car, descending through the Mold toward the southeastern anomaly. Use the northern-room intercom, then continue southeast. In the large chamber, take the right-hand gravity-wall route to the far exit. Activate Deepest Underpass before carrying the final relay through the pipes. Place it beside the tree and activate it. Placing it without activation leaves the objective unfinished.
