Combat, power meter and saving
Quick answer
Let the power meter recover between attacks; saving and resting have different consequences.

A repeatable fight loop
Stay outside the enemy’s reach until it attacks, move clear, then use one deliberate opening. Retreat while the meter recovers. An immediate follow-up can do poor damage, so more swings do not necessarily mean faster combat. Practice against a familiar enemy before applying this rhythm to a new encounter.
Save or rest?
Saving records progress. Resting heals and removes ailments but also brings enemies back. If you cleared a route and only want to preserve collected items, save. If you need recovery before a dangerous fight, rest and expect to clear the route again.
Protect the retreat
Avoid sprinting into melee with an empty meter. Keep healing accessible, separate targets where possible, and check that retreating will not lead into another enemy group. These are practical positioning priorities, not a guarantee that every attack can be interrupted or every group can be separated.
