Epic: open the account folder in Local AppData
Close the game and exit Epic Games Launcher. Press Win+R and enter %LocalAppData%\Remedy\CONTROLResonant. Open the subfolder identified by your Epic account ID. The official backup target is the complete affected save folder. Do not assume that a renderer.ini found in the parent directory is a save: the same parent can hold graphics configuration even for a Steam installation.
Make a complete backup before recovery
Copy the complete affected folder to a separate dated backup, leaving the original in place. For an official support request, ZIP that copy without editing or renaming its contents. Do not copy only the newest-looking chunk or one slot component: an apparently small save can depend on neighboring files.
Restore cautiously and check cloud state
Keep a second copy of the current state before replacing anything. Confirm the intended storefront, account and profile, and keep the launcher closed while working with files. Cloud synchronization can present another version when the launcher reopens; read its conflict information before choosing a copy. Remedy’s cited page documents locating and copying saves, not a universal cross-store conversion or guaranteed restore procedure. If recovery is uncertain, retain both versions for official support rather than overwriting the only remaining copy.
