Use this checklist to choose a specific unlock goal. It records community Early Access routes rather than claiming to list every character added by later updates.

Straightforward early goals

| Bananaperson | Walk over the banana costume after collecting the first apple and unlocking incremental upgrades. |
| Sheriff | Win a normal run by defeating its final boss. |
| Chicken | Craft three different legendary items. |
Choose a route-dependent target
| Character | Community requirement |
|---|---|
| Astronaut | Choose the dedicated canyon destination with a shuttle icon, then defend the shuttle circle. |
| Santa | Beat the boss in the Snowy Peaks biome. |
| Bushman | Kill 1,000 zombies with the Rifle in one run. |
| The Carver | Find a Fields pumpkin, equip it beside a Knife and defeat the boss. |
Check the result before changing goals
After a successful trigger, return to character selection and confirm the survivor is available. Keep a run focused on one difficult requirement instead of simultaneously risking the shuttle, pumpkin and Death encounter. Later additions such as Vampire are handled separately; this table is not a current roster total or a tier ranking.
