Weapon comparison: choose by support and role
Quick answer
Compare weapons by their role in your current backpack: trigger delivery, line damage, close burst, melee reach or area control. A universal letter ranking hides the support and survival conditions that make the weapon effective.

Compare the available roles
| Role | Examples | Check first |
|---|---|---|
| Rapid shots | LMG, Tommy Gun, Uzi, SMG, Minigun | Reload, spread, movement and on-hit supports. |
| Deliberate shots | Rifle, Revolver, Desert Eagle | Target alignment and gaps between shots. |
| Close burst | Shotgun, Mega Shotgun | Recovery and escape space. |
| Melee | Knife, Katana, Chainsaw, Crowbar, Machete, Brass Knuckles | Reach, attack rhythm and contact risk. |
| Area or persistent effects | Rocket Launcher, Flamethrower, Grinder, Crossbow | Actual effect behavior and trigger needs. |
Use current-version numbers
The 1.0 update increases Katana damage by25% and reduces Super Knife damage from280 to224. Fast ranged weapons also received a frame-rate-related firing correction. An Early Access tier list can therefore rank the same item under different numbers.
Choose the next replacement
Keep the current weapon until the new one fits, receives its supports and leaves a survivable downtime window. A lower-ranked weapon with working modifiers can be more useful immediately than a craft whose required trigger grid is absent.
