Crafting guide

Find high-rarity equipment without relying on one lucky drop

Quick answer

Use loot visibility, matching-item upgrades and crafting together. High rarity is useful only when the item fits your build; craft-only equipment and legendary rarity are separate classifications.

Choose the visible reward

The coastal update makes crates glow according to their highest contained rarity. Its improved-radar unlock displays loot rarity and fuel canisters. Use those signals to judge a route before making a long detour, then check whether the actual reward is useful.

Develop equipment you can use

Retain matching copies when a merge benefits the active setup. Check the resulting layout and current rarity before consuming ingredients. A Hammer can improve marked items at day end only up to its own rarity, so it is not an unrestricted shortcut from a common tool to any rarity.

Keep source and quality separate

Flamethrower, Desert Eagle, Mega Shotgun, Crossbow and Grinder are craft-only weapon additions in 1.0. Their crafting source does not make every copy a legendary. Conversely, a higher-rarity ordinary gun can be a practical improvement if it works with the supports already equipped. Read the current recipe list for the exact ingredients.
