Read the map: loot, fuel and airdrop markers
Quick answer
Compare destination size, resources and fuel before choosing a stop. On the minimap, blue points are equipment resources, yellow markers include fuel and crates, and red crosses identify level-up airdrops.

Choose a compact early destination
The September 2025 community map guide recommends compact, resource-dense stops for the opening part of a run. A larger location can contain more material while still wasting time because the pickups are spread farther apart. Compare the ratings rather than automatically choosing the largest map.
Give each marker a purpose
Search blue points to build up equipment supplies. Yellow points can help with fuel or consumables; inspect what you actually receive rather than treating every yellow marker as the same reward. When leveling produces a red-cross airdrop, collect it if your route remains safe.
Leave a bad pickup behind
A comment on the same guide notes that an uncollected airdrop can return at the next stage. Do not force a dangerous trip through a packed horde just because the marker is visible. Once departure is available, take only nearby improvements that do not threaten the run, then leave and reorganize for the next destination.
