Moon Sweepers Fixes: Freezes, Input, Belts & Saves
Find the relevant official fix before rebuilding your factory or replacing a save.
Quick answer
Update to 1.0.5 first. It fixes a repeatable freeze shortly after loading, big-base capsule packing failures and controller-related stuck movement. For a stalled line, then check input, power, output space and the selling destination in sequence.

Choose your symptom
| Symptom | Official change / next check |
|---|---|
| Freezes about 30 seconds after loading | 1.0.5 fixes affected worlds on both DX11 and DX12. |
| Character runs forward; keyboard ignored | 1.0.5 fixes off-centre controller/joystick/wheel/pedal input taking control. |
| Capsules will not pack in a large base | 1.0.5 fixes Q, Auto-Packer and machine packing in capsule-heavy bases. |
| Machines stop despite input and power | 1.0.4 fixes a known packing pause; inspect output blockage too. |
| AMD GPU crash | DX11 became the default in 1.0.4. Check whether you forced DX12. |
| Robot stops far from players | 1.0.4 makes J.O.O.N.A.S. work without nearby players. |
| Dust-free sector remains incomplete | 1.0.5 repairs affected completion state at world load. |
If updating does not fix the line
- Follow one material item. If no input arrives, inspect the upstream belt and source.
- Read power and battery state, including the night transition.
- Look for an output that has backed up into the machine. Trace it all the way to a station intake.
- Check the garage silo status or catcher buffer. A full source buffer often points to downstream congestion.
- Retest after changing one section, so you know which change helped.
Preserve save recovery options
Before manually changing save files, close the game and copy the whole save and backup folders elsewhere. Patch 1.0.4 keeps up to five full backups per slot: one a minute into the session, then every 30 minutes, outside Steam Cloud. Its automatic repair attempts recovery during world loading and after a crash.
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\DragDropGames\MoonSweepers\Backups
A 1.0.4 save cannot be opened in an older game version. Do not downgrade as a first recovery step. The official notes do not prescribe a universal manual file-renaming procedure; preserve the originals and include the symptoms and version when reporting a persistent problem through the developer’s linked support community.
Make a useful bug report
Record game version, solo or host/client, the exact on-screen error, what happened immediately before it and whether it repeats in the same save. For factory problems, include input, power and output state. Use the community link from the official Steam store, rather than a fan site’s similarly named Discord.

A problem that appears only after Alt-Tab
First distinguish lost input focus, a paused application and a frozen process. Return to the window and check whether menus respond before force-closing. Record fullscreen or windowed mode, controller connection, overlay software and the game build. Test one display-mode change at a time, on a spare world after backing up.
If loading the same save causes a freeze even without switching windows, use the loading-freeze patch guidance above instead. No universal Alt-Tab hotfix was verified in this audit.
