Appraisal: paid estimates, slips & Immunivax checks

Keep authenticity, usable condition and appraisal value separate.

Quick answer

Paid appraisal values a customer’s property; counterfeit inspection checks goods before you buy. For a service job, inspect the item, enter your estimate and send it. The Appraisal Slip records your result and fee, not a purchase price.

A practical inspection sequence

First identify the task. A customer asking for an estimate is not selling you the item. A seller offering an injector needs an authenticity and condition check before you agree a price.

  1. Buying stock?Inspect authenticity and usable condition
  2. Serving a client?Inspect and submit an estimated value
  3. Read the resultA discount and a service fee are different outcomes

Drag the Magnifying Glass onto an inspectable item. Move the lens across the relevant details and compare them with that item’s handbook. For a purchase, select the matching fault in Counterfeit Check before using Confront. A wrong accusation can cost reputation.

When the deal is uncertain

Authentic, usable and valuable are different judgements. A genuine injector can still be expired, recalled or damaged. A label does not repair it. Refuse a purchase you cannot assess, or price the known condition instead of paying a genuine-and-usable premium for an uncertain item.

Appraisal service

  1. Join through the visiting Appraisal Board member and put your certificate in the display case to attract appraisal clients. Use your own displayed membership fee; difficulty and intro settings change the opening conditions.
  2. Inspect each item marked Appraisal Item with the Magnifying Glass. Use its appraisal guide to account for materials, features, defects and any stated minimum.
  3. Enter the value in the Appraisal Service controls and press Send Estimate. You are valuing the client’s property, not buying it.
  4. For an accepted estimate, check the fee and printed slip, then continue with the client’s remaining items.

If you cannot see the submission controls, try moving the inspection window upward. An older player discussion describes an off-screen bar; that is a layout check, not proof that your current build has the same bug.

Labels carry consequences

Use the item-specific handbook rather than copying the price of a visually similar item. Service estimates concern the item’s underlying value; your shop’s sale markup is not the same thing. Keep a receipt from an uncertain result so you can compare what you entered with the revealed true value.

What the Appraisal Slip tells you

Open the slip to read the grade, Estimate Sent, True Value and Appraisal Fee Received. It is feedback on a completed job, not stock to sell back to the customer.

Here the 425-credit estimate matched the 425 true value. The fee was 63 + 20 = 83 credits, not 425. One recorded job, not a universal rate. Screenshot: AllThingsHow, Mark Up run; game © Questing Goose Studio / tinyBuild.

Immunivax: genuine is not the same as usable

InspectRead the result as
Indicator: orange / expiredExpired; do not treat it as usable stock.
Indicator: red / emptySpent. A green indicator alone does not clear the other checks.
Missing or faulty product/company labelAn authenticity fault. Compare with the genuine example in the handbook.
Serial length or printed range does not matchA serial authenticity fault.
Serial is in a recalled batchUnusable; being recalled alone does not make it counterfeit.
Cracked bodyDamaged and unusable.
Body colors differ from the genuine illustrationAn authenticity fault; use the item-specific comparison.

The handbook’s printed serial range is 1,250,000–4,559,999, with seven digits. The first three digits identify the batch; the documented recall prefixes are 250, 251, 301, 355, 385, 386 and 421.

A number such as 2501234 is inside that printed range but belongs to recalled batch 250. Check the remaining details even when a number appears valid. For boundary cases, consult the manual in your current build; the printed range is not a guarantee of authenticity.

When the board offers promotion

Successful repeated appraisals can lead to a paid rank promotion and higher service income. Compare the promotion fee with the jobs you actually receive before buying it. Keep the manual and magnifier available; rank does not replace checking the object. This gives a service-income route when stock purchases would consume the rent reserve.

Sources & version scope

Sources reviewed November 01, 2026. The service and slip illustrations are from a recorded Mark Up run. Immunivax checks use published handbook transcriptions; the range is not a complete authenticity test. Hotfix 1.0.0.1 also fixed an Immunivax font issue.
