What to sell: goods, customers & margins
An item needs a compatible buyer, a defensible label and enough margin after costs. A high displayed value alone does not make it a good purchase.

Containers change category
UPDATE 049 distinguishes empty liquid containers as household goods and filled containers as water goods. It also reprices the container and liquid in market events. Premium Spring Water has a restricted buyer rule: ordinary customers and tourists will not accept it. Do not infer demand from the Water tag alone.
Calculate a real margin
Include purchase cost, consumables and power. A batch that sells eventually may still be a bad use of cash before rent. Our planner uses your own current-build numbers instead of a fixed universal price list. Machine and water prices have already changed since the demo.
Overnight selling
1.0 adds vending machines that sell after closing. Treat them as another outlet with their own investment cost, rather than assuming everything in storage sells automatically.
Labeler: description is not condition
Inspect the actual goods first. Select the Labeler and compatible item, choose the correct grade or authenticity label, and check the resulting description before offering it. Retest treated water before changing its grade. Relabeling does not purify liquid, repair damage or make counterfeit stock genuine. A false premium label can lose reputation and money even when the interface permits it.
Negotiate for the run you want
Use a lower offer when buying or a higher asking price when selling, then inspect the reputation feedback before pushing again. A slightly customer-favorable trade can instead support the faction whose permit or supply you need. Watch the Feedback Box on the left door; do not assume a larger immediate margin is always the better long-term result. Reserve this approach for trades that allow bargaining; gun orders have separate rules.
