Winemaking: start fermentation & fix wine that will not sell

Separate the unfinished batch, the buyer and the sale.

Quick answer

Ingredients in a bottle are not finished wine. Press Start Fermenting, check the countdown, then wait for the item to become BloomBerry Wine. Sell to an interested buyer with enough budget.

Prepare a batch

Unlock Retired Winemaker in Wild’s Network. Use a Wine Bottle, not an Empty Beer Bottle. Fill it with 750 ml of water, open it, and put BloomBerry and optional yeast into the ingredient grid. Press Start Fermenting.

  1. Fill750 ml in the Wine Bottle
  2. AddBloomBerry; yeast is optional
  3. StartPress Start Fermenting
  4. CheckThe tooltip shows a countdown

Hover over the bottle after starting. A countdown confirms that the batch is running; storing the ingredients together does not start it.

Look for the fermentation countdown, rather than the bottle’s price. Screenshot: AllThingsHow Staff, Mark Up run. Game: Questing Goose Studio / tinyBuild.

Quality and timing

Yeast choiceReported fermentation time
No added yeast4 nights
Ordinary yeast or Yeast Bioreactor2 nights
Super Yeast1 night

Community testing ties quality to berry condition, berry count, water and yeast. Use the bottle’s actual timer if your build differs. Synthetic Yeast makes GloomBerry Wine, a different product.

Other food is not a substitute for BloomBerry in ordinary wine. A low or negative ingredient score can produce Undrinkable wine, which cannot be sold as a drink. Synthetic-yeast recipes follow different rules.

The printed guide discourages Pure Water, while community recipe tests give it the same quality point as High-Quality Water. Basewater is a straightforward first-batch choice; do not discard a batch merely because those two sources disagree.

Keep a production note

Record ingredient spending, the start day, the displayed finish time and the eventual sale. Aging stock is still cash tied up before rent. Keep a reserve outside the batch, and use the profit planner with the number of bottles you expect to sell, rather than every bottle you make.

A documented behavior change

UPDATE 049 changed poured wine into Wine Extract. Pouring a bottle out is not a way to restart or improve a finished wine. Keep the finished bottle intact when your goal is an ordinary wine sale; extraction is a separate processing decision.

Wine will not sell: check the symptom

An offer appears, but the trade failsCompare the total with Customer Budget; reduce the quantity or wait for another buyer.
You have Wine ExtractYou poured or processed the wine. It is a different item from a finished wine bottle.

A display sign cannot fix an unfinished batch. If the product is finished, check its tags, the visitor’s interest and their budget before changing your production chain.

Confirm the sale

The finished item is named BloomBerry Wine and carries Substance / Alcohol tags. Negotiate with a compatible customer and confirm the transaction, then check that the bottle left your stock and cash changed. Estimated value, a proposed offer and an actual sale are three different numbers.

Use the AgeWell after fermentation

Unlock the winemaking network route and check Dr. Jackson’s stock for an AgeWell. Put finished BloomBerry Wine inside, supply the machine’s required power, and compare the bottle’s age after a night. Remove it when its sale value fits a reachable buyer. Aging increases value, not the quality tier set by fermentation; it cannot rescue Undrinkable wine. Synthetic GloomBerry Wine does not age. Keep a dated bottle outside as a control so you can distinguish ordinary aging from the machine’s extra effect.
