Troubleshooting: fullscreen, text, softlocks and failed orders

Record the installed build and exact symptom first. Older patch fixes can explain a video or save, but do not prove that every similar current symptom has the same cause.

Quick answer

Record the installed build and exact symptom first. Older patch fixes can explain a video or save, but do not prove that every similar current symptom has the same cause.

Use a reversible diagnosis

Back up the save before testing a fresh one. Note aspect ratio, operating-system language, selected game language, mods and the step that failed. Update the game; retry once without an outdated mod when applicable. If the symptom survives, use those details in an official Steam bug report instead of repeatedly purchasing replacement equipment.

Fullscreen and UI

The historical patch record adds non-16:9 fullscreen with bars in 48.3.10; 48.3.12 fixes the information hover and scratcher input there. UPDATE 049 allows docking panels on the bars and fixes several calendar/bargain panels. If a control looks missing, move overlapping windows and compare a standard windowed layout before declaring a production failure.

Language and stalled interactions

48.3.10 fixes misplaced German/Russian/Chinese strings and an OS-language localization problem; that specific localization fix requires a new save. The same historical patch addresses security-inspector and unresponsive-inventory stalls, plus phone orders hanging up too early. 48.3.12 addresses shooting a leaving visitor. A recurrence after those versions needs a fresh report with reproduction steps.

Expected behavior and legacy items

Intro day one disables display buyers. The vacuum robot operates at night; key recurring customers may be non-shootable. Nutrichips was a removed bug item. Those cases need a version check, not an invented unlock route. The old 60 FPS cap was introduced to control unnecessary hardware load; do not assume uncapped FPS is required for production.

Production-specific failures

Wet Finisher input: update for the official 1.0.0.5 trace-water fix, then check solvent and recipe. No battery charge: check Power Service and blackout status. No wine sale: verify fermentation has finished and the buyer accepts Alcohol. No phone goods: inspect the order confirmation and reproduce the call before placing another. Preserve the save and report persistent failures with the installed patch number.
