Look before committing
Open customer inspection, examine the head for hardware and use a magnifying tool for the eyes. Read the mentor’s instructions in your build. Avoid treating one ambiguous face or animation as conclusive evidence.
Official premise and community observations
The developer describes Augs as hosts affected by a rogue AI chip. Community guides additionally watch for shaking, unusual dialogue and clothing that seems inconsistent with the displayed faction. Those extra observations are player reports, not an official detection formula.
Why Security is not a substitute
The tutorial account warns that the Augs control communications and that calling Security is not the intended solution. Do not confuse a criminal bounty call with an Aug encounter. Use the encounter instructions and act only when you have identified the target.
Difficulty and old footage
Earlier patches fixed a Hard Mode bug where a correct Aug kill could advance the failure meter. A recording from before that fix is not evidence that the current mechanic should work that way. No universal payout schedule is supplied here.
