Buying out the shop: prepare for the ending
The 1.0 release implements buying the store from the landlord as the successful run ending. A demo guide saying the buyout is unavailable is obsolete.

Know your own target
Check the property value shown in your run and the landlord’s actual offer. The commonly repeated 12,000-credit figure is a value recorded in an older save, not an official universal threshold. The announcement does not specify financing; the attributed contract reference and comparison below cover that separate route.
Build a reserve
Separate the target from rent, stock replacement and production inputs. Aim for several repeatable income lines before committing the purchase fund to another expensive machine. Selling your entire operating inventory to reach a number can leave you unable to handle the next event.
When you are ready
Update to the full release, review the calendar and landlord dialogue, and follow the purchase option offered by the game. If an expected option is absent, confirm the build and story state before treating a demo walkthrough as a solution.
What happens afterward
The developer confirms a closing statistics screen, including days survived, total worth, perks and the most profitable sale. Read the ending page if you want the outcome context before buying; this guide avoids story-specific dialogue spoilers.
Compare the mortgage offer
The published rent reference describes the Loan Shark first visiting once you reach the down payment, then offering financing on a rent day when you hold twice that amount. Read the live contract before accepting: deposit, weekly installment, weeks, total and missed-payment penalty. The mortgage replaces rent with debt payments; it does not make the property free.
Published early mortgage examples
| Difficulty | Deposit | Weekly payment | Weeks | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cozy | 2500 | 1233 | 8 | 12364 |
| Mark Up | 2000 | 930 | 12 | 13160 |
| Thin Margins | 3000 | 1615 | 16 | 28840 |
| Red Ink | 7000 | 2370 | 16 | 44920 |
Pay the debt or buy directly
These community-reference examples apply to financing taken by day 50; later property appreciation changes the calculation. Compare the total with the landlord’s current cash price. Keep each installment liquid. Missing one can cause goods to be repossessed without reducing the remaining weeks, or end the run if there is insufficient collateral. Paying the final installment grants ownership. For direct purchase, hold the full current quote and use the landlord’s Buy out option.
After ownership
The Buyout outcome provides statistics and the deed. The current community reference also documents continuing play after that outcome, without rent, and new Wild network opportunities. Read the actual continue option in your build; the official announcement’s ending screen is not evidence that every build immediately deletes or closes the save. Preserve a backup before experimenting with post-buyout branches.
