Lou: the bomb, toy box & money demand

Choose your encounter and reveal its next step.

Quick answer

Keep Lou’s entrusted box and its original contents intact until collection. Do not assume that every bomb is harmless, and do not plan on shooting her: hotfix 1.0.0.2 disables that option during all her visits.

Find your current stage

Lou’s first wanted visit, her return and the later box or demand are different encounters. Select the one you are facing; opening a later stage reveals story spoilers.

Lou is a wanted visitor

You can report the initial wanted encounter to Security. Hotfix 1.0.0.1 removed the Black Market reputation loss from reporting Lou. Update first if you are comparing an older run.

An arrest does not finish her whole story. A launch-week player describes her returning beyond the shutter after being arrested. Do not assume later encounters will offer the same report action.

She returned after an arrest

Read this visit’s conversation and complete the interaction. It is a later story stage, not proof that the first arrest failed.

Shooting is not a solution in the patched release. The official 1.0.0.2 notes disable shooting Lou in every visit. Advice built around an older shooting option will not apply.

I found the first planted bomb

The initial device is described as fake or empty in player reports and story references. That explains reports of surviving the first bomb.

Do not generalize this to retaliation later in the story. Players also report a lethal bomb after discarding Lou’s entrusted container. Check which encounter produced the device before applying advice.

She left a toy box or container

Keep the box and all its original contents until she collects them. Do not throw it away, sell or use its contents, or treat it as spare storage. A player who discarded the container reported a lethal consequence on her return.

Story references distinguish opening a box from removing its marked contents. The conservative route is to leave both untouched; an ordinary replacement item is not established as equivalent to the original.

She is collecting the box

Have the original container and its contents available and finish the collection dialogue. Do not move valuables into it just before collection: you are surrendering the container, not using a safe deposit service.

If something was consumed or discarded, this guide cannot promise a repair by replacing a look-alike item. Do not repeat the “all bombs are fake” advice on this branch.

She demands money

Prepare for the reported 1,500-credit demand and follow the actual balance in your encounter. Story references describe contributing weapons, ammunition or medical goods as well as cash; use only items the offer accepts.

Watch the balance after each contribution and finish the payment dialogue. Do not assume an ordinary retail value equals the credited amount, or that dismissing her skips the debt. No unverified minimum-payment shortcut is used here.

Why the bomb advice seems contradictory

The reports describe different stages. An empty first device and a lethal retaliation after a missing box can both occur in the same storyline. Match the advice to what Lou asked you to keep or pay, rather than applying a single “safe bomb” rule to the whole run.

Prepare without following a fixed calendar

Reserve space for the entrusted box and keep some working cash available. Story references place Lou’s opening behind business-permit progress, but a date copied from another save is not a reliable deadline. Use the last completed visit and the current dialogue to identify your stage.
