Before opening
- 1. Read calendar events before choosing display stock.
- 2. Separate the next rent payment from spending money.
- 3. Put out stock for buyers you can actually serve.
At the counter
- 4. Inspect goods before accepting the seller’s valuation.
- 5. Check the customer separately when you suspect an Aug.
- 6. Compare a criminal’s immediate bounty with the future supplier relationship.
- 7. Test a new product line with a small batch.
Before sleeping
- 8. Check power, containers, feed and other required inputs.
- 9. Review insurance and service costs against the stock you hold.
- 10. Store goods safely and record the batch’s actual profit.
What we deliberately avoid
There is no universal “always buy this machine first” rule. A furnace needs inputs and energy; animals need ongoing care; perfect water needs a compatible buyer. Choose the next purchase to remove the bottleneck you can observe in your run. These are planning recommendations rather than guaranteed profit exploits.
Translate the calendar into stock decisions
Before opening, match today’s event to stock you can actually sell. A water shortage can favor stored clean water; a power outage can favor already charged cells; cheap-material events can lower a furnace batch’s input cost. Keep the business’s own inputs. Change tomorrow’s case to seek the relevant buyer or supplier, and compare actual sales with the event price rather than counting all inventory at its paper value.
Report a wanted visitor
Keep the current wanted list within reach. Compare the arriving visitor’s name and identifying details, use the reporting option only after a match, and check the bounty and faction changes. Distinguish a normal criminal report from Aug handling. Read special Security notices as well as routine lists; a reported Serpico event is not proof that every similar officer in every run is wanted.
Keep old money examples in their build
The independent Wiki’s money page cites a preview with a Mentor loan, a 15% retail markup and information brokering. It also reports slow progress toward buyout after about 100 days. These are historical examples, not guaranteed modern margins, loan terms or a recommended completion day. Treat information offers as an expense: check public calendar/news first, and only pay if the remaining unknown has a plausible value to your actual stock.
