Water purification: test, treat & label

Use a testing tool to learn the liquid’s grade, treat it with suitable equipment, then test the result and label it accurately.

Quick answer

Use a testing tool to learn the liquid’s grade, treat it with suitable equipment, then test the result and label it accurately.

A repeatable sequence

  • Fill an appropriate container.
  • Test the contents.
  • Inspect filter durability or machine power and inputs.
  • Run the treatment.
  • Retest the output before relabeling and selling.

Separate the jobs

Testing measures water; it does not purify it. A filter or purifier changes the liquid; a label changes its description. A moisture farm produces supply. Confusing these functions is an easy way to invest without solving the actual bottleneck.

Buyer and container checks

UPDATE 049 classifies an empty vessel as household goods and a filled one as water goods. Premium Spring Water is not accepted by ordinary customers or tourists. A refusal can therefore be correct category behavior rather than a purification bug.

Before troubleshooting

Update first. 1.0.0.2 reworked purifier logic and lowered filter prices. Older demo instructions may describe different behavior. No universal purity-to-price chart is published here; the current item panel is the reference for the batch you are holding.

Current purifier price and pitcher refusals

Official 1.0.0.5 reduces the Water Purifier from 300 to 250. It also makes water customers explain that a filter must be removed when a Water Pitcher is offered with its filter still inside. Remove the filter before retrying; do not confuse that refusal with a contamination test.

Scan the actual grade

Release guides report Pure at least 99.9%; High-Quality 99–99.9%; Basewater 98–99%; Ghostwater 96–98%; Rustwater 90–96%; Gutterflow below 90%. At an exact overlapping cutoff, use the scanned in-game grade. Recheck and relabel after treatment. A bare purifier is reported to stop short of Pure; inspect quality modules rather than repeating unchanged treatment.

Choose treatment by the measured contents

Use a Water Testing Kit or AquaScan before paying a premium for liquid. A pitcher filter can improve suitable Basewater; Ghostwater may need UV or purification-tablet treatment before filtering. Inspect what contamination remains rather than repeating an unchanged filter pass. For large or dirty batches, compare Water Purifier/HydraTech capacity and power against manual supplies. Retest the output and remove a pitcher’s installed filter before offering the vessel for sale. AquaScan avoids consuming a test strip for each inspection, but neither scanner purifies the water.
