Prepare Fire, group recovery, Ice defense, Sleep recovery and MP items before entering the snowstorm from the Enterprise. Use multi-target Fire when it actually exists in your learned command list, while retaining a healer.
Answer the dangerous action
Elemental self-destruction strengthens Shiva; kill the summons before it resolves. Preventing the explosion can make her more defensive, so budget for a longer guarded phase. Recheck the timeline and do not assume a dispel removes that state. Preserve an interrupt for Whiteout/Blizzaga Barrage when reachable, or protect and recover.
After the battle
Inspect the summon reward after the trial. Discovery of the island and a won elemental-clear phase do not establish Shiva’s recruitment.
