Final Fantasy Resonance: Beginner’s Guide
Your first Visions, a working party and the checks to make before a boss.
Quick answer
Start with the story in Grandshelt, equip the Visions earned in Mitra and confirm your healing commands before leaving town. Build for the next enemy’s weakness rather than one permanent damage ranking.

The first hour
- Save after gaining control of Rain. Before Earth Shrine, read the dialogue reward options if you care about permanent stats.
- Investigate the blue-roofed house in Mitra. Its interior sequence awards Leah and Tronn. Open Equipment & Abilities and actually assign them.
- Check the next command menu. A Vision sitting in the inventory cannot help a character who has not equipped it.
- Return to the castle story objective, then continue with Fina toward Kol, Kolobos Ruins and Grandport.
Give every active slot a job
| Job | What to check |
|---|---|
| Recovery | Who heals if your usual healer is disabled or absent? |
| Weakness pressure | Which equipped command matches the next boss? |
| Protection | Who can survive or reduce the next dangerous action? |
| Damage | Who can exploit the opening after Stagger? |
Useful habits before spending gil
- Inspect accessories for ailment prevention before buying a small attack increase.
- Keep a separate manual save before major departures and one-time conversations.
- Read the objective before exploring an inactive mechanism. A story prerequisite may be missing.
- When a fight fails, name the cause: wrong element, disabled healer, empty MP or an incoming attack you could not interrupt. Change that part of the setup.
Demo and full-game progress
Square Enix’s demo covers Chapter 1 and supports carrying progress to the full game. Use the matching platform and account, and check the transfer prompt before starting a new full-game save. The full game launched in October 2026; older preorder or “coming soon” guides may be out of date.
Your next progression question
After equipping your first Visions, learn the difference between awakening, mastery and AP. If MP is limiting your dungeon progress, look at Ether supply and conditional recovery before buying another damage upgrade.
