Choose the practical response
A chocobo avoids the reported on-foot ambush, and retreat is available. Physical attacks provoke Counter Horn, including physical Water spellblades. Terra’s available Water magic gives an early alternative. Sandstorm hits the party with Earth and can Blind: keep recovery and magic pressure rather than repeating sword attacks to test the same counter. Return later if the optional fight exceeds your current preparation.
Check the next action
Inspect command category and the actual target before confirming. Restore the actor whose next turn keeps recovery working, then commit damage when the timeline permits. A quoted enemy level is preparation context rather than a guaranteed clear condition. Battle directory · Ailment remedies
