The Nintendo barrier matters
Original Switch and native Switch 2 saves cannot move in either direction, even on the same newer console. Save Data Cloud does not override that product restriction. Start the native demo if the native full edition is your intended playthrough. Steam Cloud and Xbox cloud saves likewise describe their own ecosystems rather than a bridge between stores.
If the save is not recognized
Check product label, account and save location through the platform’s normal interface before deleting anything. An old prelaunch date no longer explains a missing installed full game.
