Zoldaad Castle Painting: Bookshelf Hint & Hairpin Reward

Two interactions, in order

1. Enter Zoldaad Castle during Chapter 4. From the upper floor, enter the first room on the right.
2. Inspect the bookshelf carrying the exclamation marker. This supplies the clue; merely entering the room does not resolve it.
3. Go back downstairs. On the lower floor’s left side, inspect the painting.
4. Check the received-item message for Hairpin of Grace.

What the reward does

Hairpin of Grace restores HP through walking. It is an accessory reward, separate from the castle’s Tablet Shards and normal treasure chests.

If you already left the castle

This puzzle can be revisited after its Chapter 4 introduction. Return to the bookshelf before retrying the painting. The castle keys and the emperor fight are story objectives, not substitutes for reading this clue.
