Inspect before committing
Turn on the Gene Scanner and inspect traits, complexity and operation heat. The community code reference distinguishes a written input disk for injection from output disks for extraction. Check the intended operation and remaining uses, not merely whether a disk fits a slot.
Remove an unwanted trait
Fit a Genetic Stabilizer and use a Negative Trait Filter or Precision Extraction Module bound to the unwanted trait. Each successful extraction removes one rank, so Infertile X needs repeated successes to disappear. Without a stabilizer, extraction destroys the seed on success or failure. Both outcomes add heat. Preserve a replacement seed before beginning.
Heat and compatibility
The October 31 community code review says heat does not cool simply by waiting days; descendant seeds clear inherited operation heat. Recheck chance after each attempt. Positive and Negative filters together leave no random candidate. Perennial conflicts with Infertile, so adding it directly to innate Nutrifruit is not a bypass. Locked genome traits cannot simply be removed. Drag compatibility does not guarantee every final check passes.
Use a small controlled progression
First maintain enough unedited production to support the shop. Acquire preservation equipment, perform one intended edit, inspect resulting ranks and chance, and grow descendants where possible before a long edit sequence. This ordering is our risk-control recommendation. The source is static community review of build 26317870, not our own gameplay testing.
