Choose the correct unlock
Finding materials does not unlock the menu. Meet the relevant NPC first, then use Equipment Upgrade at a bell. Weapon and accessory unlocks are separate.
An early material stop
Check the Waystation cart for a Blade Reforge Talisman. A chest beyond the stairs from Rustblade Pavilion contains Twin Metal and Forge Metal. After obtaining the bow, inspect hanging bags rather than assuming they are scenery.
Accessory crystals
In Crimson Forest, enter the passage beside the Mirrorwood Depths bell. Check both the ground ahead and the left side for Tainted Crystal Shards and Refined Indigo Crystal. In Lu Village, inspect the cliff beside Zhen Yao.

Select the item you actually equip, read its current material requirement and preview the next upgrade. These locations are useful early stops, not a complete material checklist. Forging and level upgrades are distinct systems.
