PC requirements and settings: read the targets correctly
Official hardware tiers, upscaling conditions and a controlled tuning checklist.
Quick answer
Both official baseline tiers require an SSD, 16 GB RAM and DirectX 12. Their performance targets include upscaling. Compare one setting at a time rather than treating the targets as native-resolution benchmarks.

Tracing has separate recommendations
The official tracing tiers list RTX 5060 8GB for ray tracing at 1080p / 60 FPS and RTX 5080 16GB for path tracing at 2160p / 60 FPS. Both assume upscaling.
Tune with a controlled comparison
- Choose a priority: clarity or steadier response.
- Use the same scene and viewpoint. Record the original settings.
- If demanding tracing effects are enabled, compare with them off first. Then test resolution or an available upscaling option separately.
- If the image develops ghosting or shimmer, reconsider the upscaling setting before changing several other options.
This is a troubleshooting method, not an in-house benchmark or a tested best-settings preset.
Record a problem before troubleshooting
Note your GPU, driver, game version and the location where the issue repeats. Use your store’s file-verification feature and check official known issues. Keep the original configuration before experimenting.
HDR unavailable: check the display setup
In Windows Settings → System → Display, select the HDR-capable display you actually use and enable HDR, then recheck the game setting. With multiple displays, choose the correct one. This is a system check, not proof of a GPU-specific game bug. Microsoft HDR support ↗
DualSense input works, but haptics do not?
Sony says PC haptic feedback requires game support and USB. Test with a data-capable cable and distinguish working input from support for a feedback feature. PlayStation connection support ↗
